Compare the installed app with the proposed file
Inspect the app currently installed and any version information available in Android or the app’s own settings. Compare it with the provider’s verified release information. A differently named file may be harmless, but a different package identity requires an explanation before you proceed.
Preserve the information you may need
Read the provider’s instructions about account access and local data. Record the official recovery route before changing the installation. Do not assume that all progress is stored online or that reinstalling will restore every setting. Use documented backup or migration options only when the app actually provides them.
Follow the verified update route
Use the provider’s intended distribution method and read the operating-system prompts. If the file attempts to install as an additional app rather than update the existing one, pause to compare identities. Do not remove the original installation just to force an unfamiliar package to succeed.
Check permissions and account behavior afterward
An update may introduce new prompts. Assess each requested permission against a documented function and keep credentials private. If login fails, record the error and move to the account troubleshooting guide instead of repeatedly reinstalling.
Distinguish editorial updates from software updates
The recent directory page can show new or revised records. Those revisions may concern writing, links or app fields. A software-release claim needs its own source and should not be inferred from directory order.
